c's 9th month

C is 9 months old! What a month this has been for C as he has been one sick baby.  At our last hospital visit, C weighed in at 8.4 kgs as he had lost some weight due to being so ill.  He seems to still be at around 75 cm tall, so no major change in his height this month.  This might make it sound as though C hasn't grown much, but don't let the numbers fool you as he is changing loads!

The biggest thing this month is of course C's 5 day stay in the hospital due to pneumonia and RSV.  The poor kid just couldn't catch a break with the constant cough he had for a few weeks.  Then following the hospitalization, he caught some sort of stomach bug and couldn't keep anything in.  He was throwing up and going through tons of diapers for a number of days causing us to worry about possible dehydration.  Thankfully the bug left his system quickly, so we didn't have to be readmitted to the hospital.  C is now definitely on the mend and seems to be mostly back to normal again.  Yay!

With all of this going on, C's sleep has continued to regress this month.  It hasn't been something we've focused on as all of our energy was put into getting C healthy again.  Due to this, C has been back in our bed and waking up multiple times a night to nurse.  This is definitely something we'll be working on this coming month as Matt and I are ready to get some more sleep.

On a positive note, C is moving around very comfortably now.  He crawls super fast on his knees these days.  He stands up quickly and is able to move around on different pieces of furniture.  He is very confident in his abilities and has no fear, causing us to think that he may just start walking any day now.  He still loves his walker and can get around fast in it, which is pretty incredible.  C continues to speak lots and lots and will jabber away.  He seems to definitely recognize a lot of words in all three languages that he is surrounded by, which is pretty neat.

Highlights for this month include: getting his first cold from his mamma, eating a banana whole without having it mashed up, trying watermelon for the first time, having his never ending cold progress to pneumonia and getting lots of firsts at the hospital, and learning to bite and finally being home again.

Happy 9 months C!

Yay for being 9 months old!

Too cute!

So many smiles!

Look at all those teeth!

Adorableness!

Love his laugh!

It is hard to take pictures of C as he doesn't like to lay still.

Clap, clap, clap!

WHAT?!? We are done with photos??

I love you C!

...Things to Remember...

  3. What a little cutie! Glad he's feeling better, it's no fun when little ones get sick, especially if they have to visit the hospital.
