c's 41st week

Week 41 has come and gone and I've only just found time to sit down and go through all of the photos in order to get this blog post up.  Life has been busy and we've been busy living it! Hopefully once I get all caught up, I won't be this behind again....but we've heard that before haven't we?!? :)

So this week flew by with a whirlwind of activities.  We went out to eat a few times, ran errands, and tried to spend time outdoors as we hadn't in a while.  One night we went out as just our little family of three and we had ourselves a wonderful time.  C did so well even though it ended up being a later night for him.  We explored Toys R Us (which just came to our city this past month), had a yummy dinner, shopped, and even had time for dessert.  C stay occupied and happy through it all and I have to be honest and say that having cheerios for C really made a difference! What did people do before they made cheerios?!? HA!

C is loving his foods again and we are trying to give him more and more things to eat.  He really enjoys the independence of feeding himself, much to this mamas dismay as things are a whole lot messier! :) This week C ate papaya and cantaloupe, both of which he just loves eating.  He also tried guava as he saw Matt eating it and was desperate for a try.  We are trying to come up with more meal ideas in order to get away from his rice and veg that he gets every day, so we'll see what we can come up with.

Our boy is definitely learning the word no these days as it is said multiple times throughout the day to him.  It is remarkable how he know what is off limits and still has this crazy desire to keep pushing those limits all. day. long.  He loves going for his diaper trash can, a light plastic shelf, the fan, the tissue box, the water cooler, and just about anything that doesn't belong to him.  He also loves crawling into the bathroom if the door is left open.  He is persistent and relentless.  It is exhausting! He'll learn someday soon, right?

Day 281 (10/8)
C getting his hair washed by his daddy!

Day 282
Enjoying some papaya all on his own!

Day 283
Hanging with his Apo and wearing fun shoes!

Day 284
Almost bedtime...

Day 285
Doesn't he look like such a big boy in this outfit?
Exploring outside, eating grass, going on his tiptoes...life is good.

Day 286 (10/13)
Hanging out with his daddy and his Apo.  He is seriously one loved baby!
We also celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving today with some wonderful colleagues from work.

Day 287
C notices everything!

...Things to Remember...
- I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Matt does all of C's baths now.  It is their thing, which works out great for me.  C loves his bath and Matt does a fabulous job of getting him all cleaned up.  C is into splashing these days and enjoys hanging out in his tub for as long as possible.  I know, I've got a wonderful husband and so appreciate him!
- I know you are all wondering about C's sleep, but I feel as though I am a broken record for always mentioning it especially since it really isn't any better.  If I don't write about his sleep, just assume that it is still tough with some good nights and mostly interrupted nights.  C still wakes up a lot to nurse and is still in our bed.  Hopefully it will change one day, but until then, we will keep taking naps!

We have several people in our Bible Study that have traveled to Thailand and have loved looking at their photos and videos. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog...and if it help[s, my kids didn't sleep through the night for a loooong time. Good news? They both finally outgrew it! Naps are a good thing! (o:
