week 29 and a mini-vacation

Week 29 has been a great week as we've been off work this week.  Matt and I took a mini-vacation (not a babymoon) to Bangkok for one last trip together before baby boy joins us.  We were gone for five nights and had a wonderful time together.  It was so nice to have alone time and to just hang out with one another without any schedule to follow.  It was a very chilled out and mellow trip and we spent most of it relaxing in our hotel room, laying out poolside, walking in shopping malls, and eating lots of junk food.  You might get sick reading this, but I just have to share where we ate at in BKK as they definitely made me happy.  Some of the meals we had included (and sadly are not limited to) sandwiches at Au Bon Pain and Subway, breakfast at Starbucks, a western burger and fries at Carls Jr, yummy ice-cream at Cold Stone Creamery and  Swenson's, Italian food at a fancy restaurant, lots of donuts from Krispy Kreme, some Thai food and fruit shakes at a shop next to our hotel, and lots of Loacker Wafers from 7/11.  Yup, I basically ate my way through Bangkok and it was great!

Matt and a football player.  Me looking comatose after eating Cold Stone.
Yes, I've been terrible at getting regular shots of us, so my goal is to fix this...soon...ish.

** Some Highlights **
Symptoms: I had a bit of nausea this week as well as some back pain and some "morning" sickness again.  I also now find going up stairs to be kind of tiring these days.  It is rather embarrassing just how breathless I become by simply walking.
Total Weight Gain: About 8 kgs still, although I'm thinking it may be more after all the food I ate this week.
Cravings: I have been enjoying sweets and all kinds of unhealthy foods this week.
Maternity Clothes: I'm definitely doing a mix of maternity and regular clothes now.  While in BKK, I was able to buy a few maternity shirts from H&M, so now I have more choices of clothes to wear.  Yay!
Wedding Ring: On, but it has begun to get difficult to take off at the end of the day.
Sleep: Good although I totally missed my body pillow while away.
Belly Button: It has definitely changed.  My outie is definitely poking out now and is totally apparent when I wear fitted shirts.
Other: I totally sported a bikini during our mini-vaca and let the baby bump get some much needed time in the sun.  I was a bit embarassed shy at first, but luckily got over it as I don't have a maternity bathing suit.  Also Matt was a boost of confidence for me as he somehow still finds me beautiful...aww! I loved being in the pool and hope to get into the pool more often during these last couple of months.  Baby also took his last airplane trip for a while as the next time we are on a plane, he will be out and we will NOT be one of THOSE parents....promise!
Fun story: We ran into a student at the airport and the student's mom mentioned to Matt how small I was for being as pregnant as I am.  SCORE! Also the people in BKK were so nice and many gave up their seats for me on the BTS (sky train).

These have been really fun to read, Mel! And I'm sure you'll be glad you wrote it all down, as someday soon it'll feel like it was eons ago, and you won't be able to easily recall some of these great details!
