Week 7 has been a cold week for C as we are still currently in Canada. Thankfully we now have some appropriate clothes for all of us, which makes being here in the winter totally doable. In fact, I'm really enjoying getting to experience a real winter. It's not too bad and I think I could manage one if the opportunity ever presented itself. The best part of being here in the winter for me though is seeing all the snow as it is seriously so beautiful. I had no idea it sparkled so much!
Being here is definitely bittersweet because of the reasons for our trip, but we are making the most of it. We are at Matt's parents' house and have been enjoying some great down time together. We've been relaxing, chatting, laughing, watching TV, and making some good memories. We've driven around town and have run a few errands, including going to the grocery store, which is something I love doing when I'm back in North America. We are also getting our fill of yummy western food that we can't get or don't get often at home. You can bet I have been eating honey nut cheerios with soy milk every morning and have been loving it!
C has done a great job of getting acclimated to life out here. Although our routines have totally changed, we've managed to get to a point where we aren't all super tired. It took a few days with some really early mornings, but we are now on a decent schedule. I think this trip has worked out really well because C is so young and flexible. After all, all C needs is food, diapers, and a place to sleep!
The best part of all of this is seeing C getting loved on daily by his grandparents! He is one lucky kid!

...Things to Remember...
- C's neck continues to get stronger and stronger. He holds his head up for longer periods of time and actively looks around now.
- When holding C, he likes to now stretch up and push up with his legs. It's as though he wants to stand up already!
- C continues to eat well and seems to be growing lots every day. I can't believe how much bigger he already is.
- C continues to grunt and make tons of noises when he sleeps...a lot. It gets so loud sometimes that it keeps us up. Hopefully it will go away as he gets older!

ReplyDeleteI agree...it would have been an even better trip if it had been for a different reason. That said, I'm so glad we were all able to get back and to have this time with everyone! Hugs!
