c's 5th week

This week C is not only 5 weeks old, but also 1 month old! It is so strange to say that he is now over a month old as he just shouldn't be that old yet.  I know, I know...I'm a broken record when it comes to talking about how quickly time flies by or how slow time is going.  It's just that time to me right now is just off.  It's either going too fast or not going fast enough.  There are days I'd love to have a remote control so that I could slow down certain parts and other days when I want to fast forward through other bits.  Currently I'd love to slow down the moments when I have sweet cuddles with C and I'd love to fast forward through changing all of his poopy diapers!

Big news for the week is that C and I ventured out by ourselves...kind of.  We were only alone together when I drove us to and from the bank, which was where we met up with my mom.  However, I'm not gonna knock it as it was a pretty big deal.  I put him ready, put him in his car seat, and we headed out, just the two of us.  He was happy for a few minutes and then started crying.  I have to say that having C cry in the car seat as I drive is just terrible as there was nothing I could do to help him.  Every bone in my body wanted to get out, get him out of the car seat, and comfort him, but I had to just keep on driving and hope that he'd stop.  Today, I decided to try singing anything and everything to him.  I don't know whether it was my singing or whether he just wore himself out, but halfway to the bank, he stopped crying thankfully.  That said, I did continue on singing my made up song all the way to the bank...just in case! :)

Day 29 (1/29)
Tummy time on daddy's knees!

Day 30
Getting bigger!

Day 31
Cuddle time...

Day 32 (2/1)
Happy One Month!

Day 33
Daddy's got skills on rocking C to sleep.

Day 34
Paying attention to the elephant mobile.

Day 35
So after our bank errand, we went out for lunch with my mom.  C thankfully had fallen asleep by that point, so I just laid him on my knees, sat sideways, and ate my lunch without any interruptions! I don't think this will be happening often as he is getting way too big and squirmy for this position.

...Things to Remember...
- C is still sleeping super well.  He naps a number of times during the day for about 1-2 hours each time.  Then at night he usually sleeps for about 3-4 hour chunks.  This means that we are all less tired in the morning! :)
- C continues to get stronger every day.  He regularly holds his head up for various amounts of time, wanting to see everything around him.
- We had fun shooting his one month photos.  The numbers are iron-ons that we transferred onto a onesie.  The goal is to do these shoots every month!
- Water is my best friend.  Every time I nurse, I have to have a glass as I get super thirsty.

  2. He's so beautiful! I love that image of your singing voice turning the car ride into a happy one. Bet you two are going to be singing together one of these days.

  3. Awwwww. He is so cute. Isn't that the worst when they are crying and you can't help them? My baby always loved the car so I was thankful for that. I had a friend that had a screaming baby EVERY SINGLE time she went any where. I felt so bad for her.

Have fun with your little man. They grow so incredibly quickly! Keep on singing!
