cultural day

We had a Cultural Fair recently at school.  This was a great day full of cultural performances, games, and lots of yummy food.  The day started normally in that we had a regular full day of school.  All of the festivities didn’t start until after-school.  So it was a LONG day.  That being said, it was actually a lot of fun and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves a lot.  I know that I did!

The program started at 3:00 with an opening dragon dance and a whole elementary school song.  Then everyone was off in all directions.  There were performances all evening from 3pm till past 9pm.  Besides from the performances, there were also lots of game booths that the teachers were in charge of.  People bought tickets and used these tickets to play the various games.  My partner teacher and I did a Hockey station in which the players had to get a puck into the holes to receive prize tickets.  We had itty-bitty kids to grown adults play our game, so it was loads of fun to watch and be a part of.

Probably one of my favorite parts though, besides from running the game booth and watching my kids perform, was all the food.  I ate a lot! I had Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, and Indian foods.  It was all so delicious! All in all, it was a great evening!
