time

Time is a funny thing.  Sometimes I have a lot of it and at other times, there doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day for me to get everything done.  As it seems, life has once again gotten the better of me and I’ve slacked off with this whole blogging business.  It’s hard to believe that it is already the middle of February! I will simply look at the positive in that I’m at least blogging once a month.  I guess that is better than not at all, right??

Here are some highlights since we’ve been back in Hong Kong…

  1. Work started up quickly.  I gained two new students and lost a student and now have a total of 16 students in my class.  We’ve done a lot of neat things recently including performing at our second grade assembly, going to the Science Museum, and celebrating a lot of special days.  I’ll try to blog more about the goings on of my class in the near future.

  1. Matt broke his foot.  Long story short, what seemed to be a sprain ended up being a break, so Matt was put into a cast for 4 LONG weeks.  Matt was a wonderful patient and was not demanding at all.  It was quite difficult trying to take care of both of us that it made me really, really appreciate our relationship even more.  I try not to take it for granted, but this experience made it really clear just how much we both contribute in this relationship and I’m so thankful for it! That being said, this break also came at a very inopportune time for us as we had every intention of coming back to HK with the goal to start exploring more and exercising more.  That obviously has not happened and we instead spent the time going to work, coming home, and watching a lot of movies and television series.  Thankfully Matt is now out of his cast, but we are trying to take things easy as he still has quite a bit of pain.

  1. We have been off work for the last week due to Chinese New Year.  We decided to stay in Hong Kong over this break so that Matt would have a chance to recover from his broken foot and so that we could experience this holiday locally.  We have taken it easy and have been rather lazy to be quite honest.  We’ve gone out and we’ve seen a few things, which I’ll blog about soon, but due to the very cold weather (9 degrees), we have stayed in.  Whatever the case, this holiday has been very enjoyable and very relaxing!

Hopefully it won’t take me so long before I blog again! Thanks for the encouragement!

  1. ooh, is it cherry blossom time yet? I can't imagine how beautiful it'd gotta be there! One of my high school friends lives in China, and she has pictures of all the different colors, and the way they fall on the ground. Gorgeous! Tell Matt I hope he gets to feeling 100% soon!

  2. Hey! Unfortunately this is a fake tree inside the mall. The cherry blossoms are coming soon, but I don't know if there will actually be any here in HK. If there is, you can be sure that I will go out to find them! :D
