a great leap

The P52 theme this week is a great leap.  I really struggled with this one.  A lot.  How do you capture a great leap in faith, in hope, in life? This theme lends itself to being quite serious in nature, but my brain hasn't been working and I unfortunately can't do it justice.  So then I thought about writing another post on how we took a great leap in our move out to Hong Kong or about our great (and wonderful) leap into marriage.  In the end, I decided to just keep things simple this week.

The easiest thing I came up with is to share some super fun leaping or rather jumping photos.  I absolutely LOVE taking jumping shots.  My husband will vouch for this as he is the one who has to take them over and over until I'm happy with them or until he gets tired of taking the them. ;) I don't know what it is about them, but they get the inner child out of me and just make me smile.BIG.

You might notice as you look at these pictures that I can jump high, but I really need to work on not making the crazy face every.single.time.  Tyra would not be impressed! Ha! However, I did work on changing my leg placement and varying things up a bit.  I think I need some more practice though....as if I needed another reason to take more! :) Yay!

Cherry Blossoms - Japan, April 2010 (I took his, he took mine.)

Taj Mahal - India, December 2010 (I took his, he took mine.)

Wedding - Thailand, July 2011 (My brother took the Polaroids, the photographer took the big one.)
For the photographer picture, I have to let you know that I do not remember doing this at all.  It was the end of the wedding ceremony and we were about to dance out to Love Train.   Instead of just walking off the stage normally, I jumped off, which scared my husband (check his face)! TOO FUNNY! :D

Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and Mont St. Michel - France, July 2011. (Husband took these.)

Since these were all quite dated, I decided to have fun with my second graders and get them to jump around for me.  They had lots of fun and giggled after each try.  They kept wanting more and more photos to be taken.  These may not be amazing, but they sure do capture a whole lot of JOY.

Love the little girl on the far right...no fear.

Check out all those moves! Impressive, right??

Boys will be boys!

    1. Thanks Chelsea! :) Everything is fun for the little ones, so I get away with it. That said, you also have kids that you can bribe when you don't have any ideas of photos for the P52 and I don't! BTW...just started following you "officially" as I always look forward to seeing what you have to share and how life is treating you and your family. Enjoy the weekend!
