oops

It has been way too long since I last blogged.  Since my last post, a lot has happened.  I was able to go home to Chiang Mai for the holidays, 2009 left and 2010 arrived, and I’ve come back to Hong Kong to finish up this school year.  Life has been so full lately that I’ve just not had the energy to blog, so hopefully I can get into the rhythm of it once again.  Anyways, here's a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

Just to rehash for a moment…it was really great to be back in Chiang Mai.  It was great to not have to take any allergy pills, to not be ill or constantly have to blow my nose, and to be able to leave my hair down.  As much as I loved being home, this trip was definitely an exhausting one.  Matt and I were busy balancing our time between my parents, his parents, my extended family, and our friends.  We were constantly on the go.  We were trying to pack so much in, which was nice, but it really left us feeling worn out by the end of it all.  Isn’t it funny how you always need another vacation after being away on a vacation?

So since CM is home, Matt and I just wanted to do all the things that we had been missing since living in HK.  This included eating yummy food at all of our favorite places, getting massages, getting my hair done, getting a pedicure and manicure, going shopping, and just enjoying the sun and fresh air.  We got to do most of everything we wanted to with the exception of going to the movies.  Thankfully there will always be next time! Something new that we did get to try is a Fish Spa, which is currently all the rage in CM.   We went to a shop and put our feet in fish tanks and the fish ate off our old and dead skin cells.  That’s right, the fish ate at our feet for thirty minutes, which was the longest thirty minutes ever! It felt so weird! We had fun trying it out and I’m glad to have had another new experience to remember.

Another great thing about this trip home this year was that a lot of my extended family members were in CM because a cousin of mine got married.  It was so great to see everyone and catch up.  I was able to see a lot of my extended family that I would probably not have had the chance to see had it not been for the wedding.  As great as it was to catch up with everyone, it was also a tad strange to see all of my cousins all grown up with lives of their own.  I can remember when we were just kids and to see some of them with kids of their own…so bizarre! Time is such a crazy thing, isn’t it?

Well, I hope that ya'll have a great week and I'll try to post again soon as I do have some more things to share with all ya'll!
