island life

I'm back and ready to share some more photos from our time out on the islands.  (If you missed the first part of our trip, feel free to click HERE or just scroll down to the post below.) ;) I love being out here in Thailand and being here totally reminds me of how much I miss our Thai life.  It's been so nice to eat all of the deliciously cheap food, snack on all of the fresh fruits and fruit shakes, hop on a motorbike to go out for a spin, be in the sun, have affordable massages, and use my Thai again.  We've had a lot of fun being back "home" for this past week and a half.

Since we've been on the island, it's rained a number of times (thanks Matt!;).  The rain was lovely though because it cooled the temperature a bit and I didn't have to feel bad about staying indoors reading and relaxing even if it meant it was one day less day out on the beach.  On the days it didn't rain, we were able to swim in the pool, head out to the beach to swim in the ocean, and go into the touristy parts of town for some shopping.  We've so enjoyed our time here on the island, so thank you for letting us visit Jacquie and David! :)

Sunset

Check out the dog balancing on the back of a motorbike...only in Thailand!

There were tons of dogs on the beach...who can blame them! :)

Random sign in front of a restaurant...I know...totally inappropriate.

Another sunset.

Pretty beach fires.

Boats galore and all brightly painted.

Detailed watermelon flower carving.

The bungalow we stayed at on Koh Tao.

A rocky beach.

On the motorbike!

Yummy fruit vendor and sad fish for sale in front of a restaurant.

Neat tree in the middle of a rocky portion of the beach.

Coconut.

Carefree jumping off an old pier into shallow water....scary!

Beautiful clouds.

  1. We visited Thailand last year for a week, during a stay in HK with our daughter and it is somewhere we will hopefully return to again as we loved it there. Your beautiful photos reminded me of just how much.

    1. Thanks so much for your wonderful comments Becky! :) Knowing that I'll blog with the pictures definitely makes me inspired to go out and try to take more pictures to share. So I'm so glad you enjoyed the pictures as I had fun taking them and totally thought of you on the other end. :) Thailand is "home", so I'm a bit biased when it comes down to it, so yes...it is an awesome place! xo - Melody

  7. Gorgeous photographs!

Love that balancing dog on a motorbike. Here in Bohol, they are making a conscious effort to control the number of gallivanting dogs on the beaches.

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. Thank you so much! :) That is nice that they are working to control the dogs in Bohol. I think it will take some time to gather all the stray dogs around Thailand though as there are a lot! Thanks for stopping by! :)

    1. Thank you Madge! :) I actually really love the coconut photo as well, but wasn't sure about it as it seems to be a bit underexposed, which is what I like about it. HA!
